Why do stainless steel pipe fittings need heat treatment?
 
"Austenitic stainless steel" buttweld fittings are made from pipes or sheets, which have to be squeezed or bent in the manufacturing process. The pipes produced internal stress and great crystallization, and were hardened, affecting the mechanical properties of pipes.
 
If the pipe fittings do not undergo standard heat treatment process, there will be safety concerns in the process of using pipe fittings, such as cracking, corrosion or leakage. Heat treatment process is included in the leading international standards, such as the Japanese JIS, the American ASTM, and the German TUV. The pipe fitting products without standard heat treatment will not be allowed for use.
 
In view of this, the company especially cooperates with the Metal Industries Research and Development (R&D) Center of Taiwan Bureau of Energy to install the most advanced heat treatment equipment in Taiwan. All our products have to go through standard heat treatment process. In 2019 the heat treatment furnace of the company won the 6th National Industrial Innovation Award conferred by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
 
Purposes of Solution Heat Treatmentfor “austenitic stainless steel”
 
1. Solution heat treatment of chromium (Cr) carbide.
2. Re-crystallization, softening.
3. Maintain corrosion resistance in the best condition.
4. Remove internal stress.

Since it is difficult to determine the quality of heat treatment from product appearance, the performance of heat treatment process cannot be judged instantly.

Through AI remote control recording technology and the advanced furnace insulation engineering developed by the Metal Industries R&D Center, as well as the multiple uniform temperature tests inside the furnace, each workpiece in the entire process is ensured to be heated completely and evenly, achieving the most standard heat treatment effect. The heat treatment process is of the highest quality, precise, energy-saving and carbon-reducing . The heat treatment data and the temperature curve diagram inside the furnace collected each time will be transmitted back to the server of the Metal Industries R&D Center. The AI will judge whether the heat treatment process of meets the standard, and then will put it in the cloud storage of the Metal Industries R&D Center.
 
For users to trace the heat treatment history of the pipe fittings, a QR code that connects to the Metal Industries R&D Center is attached with each of the inspection certificates of the pipe fittings.
